Had 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets in the side yard late this afternoon. One of them
gave me some good looks as it frenetically operated through the tree foliage.
Occasionally I could hear little clicking sounds, from the rapid wing beats I
think. In the late morning two Eastern Towhees were calling back and forth from
somewhere way back in the back yard. The Northern Mockingbirds seemed to be
celebrating the departure of the Gray Catbirds today, as if to say "now we have
the territory to ourselves."
Rumor has it a Black-throated Blue Warbler has been seen hanging out in the
vicinity of the Long Branch Nature Center building. Can't vouch for it myself.
