All - our fruitless search today for Dickcissels on Grassdale Road near
Remington took Sherman Suter and I past Norman's Ford Road. This has been a
fairly reliable location for Longspurs the past few winters and hosted the Says
Phoebe as well.
Apparently, the owner of the big house at the end of the road (who was not
happy w. all us birders driving up and down "his" road) has some political
power. There is now a sign at the beginning of the road which states "no
stopping or parking" on Normans Ford.
I'm ready to be the first to boycott his business, if he runs one. If he
doesn't want birders on his road, don't know why he'd want them in his store,
just saying.
