Birders,

Two Seaside Sparrows have been present from May 1 - May 14 behind the Sandcastle Motel & Resort at Virginia Beach. Two German birders were there for this time period and saw the birds almost every day. Several photos were made of the relatively tame birds. Guess they have gotten acclimated to people on the boardwalk and to folks going in and out of the motel. The birds were certainly on the seaside but not in a marsh as one would expect. Rosemarie and I also observed the birds on May 5th and 6th.

On May 6th we saw two Grasshopper Sparrows on the Eastern Shore, Rt. 600, near Magothia Road. One bird singing and one on the power line. First time we've seen Graßhopper Sparrows on the Eastern Shore.

Happy birding!
