I went to see Cliff Swallow nests above the footbridge to Belle Isle (bad
idea, concert on Brown's Island, traffic, did not park). They were there,
and since I wasn't far away I decided to swing by the trees the Martins use
and see if there was any activity. At 7:39pm there were a few drifting
around overhead, and by 8:05 there were several dozen, plus 2 Peregrines on
the skyscraper across I-95. The raptors never flew and the PUMAs had not
entered the trees by the time I headed for The Wetlands to listen for
fledgling owls (no luck there).
