Greetings all,
Continuing my survey of Short-eared Owl spots in Fauquier County, Todd Day and
I went to the fields on Crenshaw Road in Rectortown tonight at dusk. We
observed one SEOW flying over the field on the northwest side of Crenshaw Road
about one mile from the intersection with Rectortown Road. The bird perched a
few times in distant trees but it never came particularly close to us.
This series of contiguous fields are the traditional SEOW fields off Crenshaw
Road in Rectortown, Fauquier County. These fields have hosted SEOWs for many
