Late yesterday afternoon, I visited Messick Point in Poquoson looking for the
SEOW found by Andy Hawkins. The owl was spotted flying over the marsh in the
direction of Plum Tree Island, easily seen from the boat launch area. Although
3 Northern Harriers were seen in the area, no encounters with the SEOW that
Andy saw were observed.
Equally impressive was the large number of Boat-tailed Grackles present...179!
This is a location that always harbors this grackle, but not in these numbers.
