Well, I can't say I've seen many, but the show the Short ears put on tonight
was the best one I've seen. There was quite an assemblage at the pulloff at
Edgecliff farm as people were coming and going throughout, but I think the
number of observers may have peaked around 20 w. the late arrival of a birding
group (class?) (The residents of Edgecliff put in an appearance as well -
surprised by the number of people, they had no idea what we were looking for.
They were very cordial and after hearing about the owls, just asked that no one
park blocking the driveway)
The first owl popped up around 5:10 on the west side of 710 and was joined
shortly by a second owl. At least 3 owls were seen and possibly a 4th on both
sides of the road. There were owl to owl interactions, owl and Harrier
interactions, close flybys and post ups allowing good scope views. Only thing
missing was vocals, which I have yet to experience.
