Leigh Surdukowski, Teresa Shaner, Howard Davis and I visited
the fields near Zion Crossroads on Sunday, January 8, and
saw two Short-eared Owls. This is the area described earlier
by David Spears. They appeared about 5:25 pm over the field near
the pond, and eventually crossed the road toward the east as
they followed the drainage ditch. A Northern Harrier was also
present.
