Yesterday afternoon around 4pm there was a sub-adult White Ibis at Back Bay NWR
in a marshy area between the East dike and the dune line about halfway from the
visitor center to False Cape. Also in the impoundment just north of the pump
station (which is on the west dike) there was a young Bald Eagle sitting in the
impoundment just above the water on a small island. Also present were Little
Blue and Great Blue Heron, Great and Snowy Egret. Also had a Yellow-breasted
Chat performing an interesting aerial display near the observation area along
the East dike.
