Visitors:
Not so many hikers today although it turned out to be a nice one. Several
friendly passers-by asking about our mission, a few staying to help us find
a few raptors.
Weather:
Fog south on the mountain early but cleared quickly. Most of the day was
partly cloudy, light East then Southeast winds.
Raptor Observations:
Non-raptor Observations:
First bird of the day was a Common Loon traveling NNE to SE-ish. Other
migrants included several Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, a few Northern
Ravens, five Red-headed Woodpeckers, three Chimney Swifts, three Baltimore
Orioles perching on a snag across Rt. 7, among other more common species,
and about ten Monarch butterflies.
