The wind kept the birds down at Occoquan this morning. The highlight was 3
snow geese leading a flock of 26 tundra swans high overhead. Waterfowl numbers
were low, with sightings of Canada goose, mallard, black duck, gadwall, ruddy
duck, ring-necked duck, lesser scaup, bufflehead, and red-breasted merganser.
Several savannah sparrows were along Charlie Rd., and there were several groups
of kinglets, creepers, and yellow-rumped warblers along the shore.
