Despite the windy conditions this past weekend at the Eastern Shore, the
birding was pretty good. The yellow-rumps were everywhere. The highlight
of the visit was a sora at Ramp Rd. While observing a lone Black duck on
the pond, I caught movement in the reeds right next to the road on the
opposite side from the pond. The sora was working the small patch of reeds
where
the pond empties underneath the road. I had some good, long looks from a
distance of about 10 feet.
