Hi all,
I took my kayak out to Staunton View park this morning for a second attempt at
BLACK TERN photos. I had been there 2 days ago and watched a group of 10 circle
around the shallow "island" in the middle of the river for a couple hours.
Today I was only able to locate one...perched on a small stick in the middle of
the river...barely noticeable as I passed within 20'. I ended up getting some
good pics of this cooperative fellow...but none of them capture the moment
quite right...they never do. Other birds of interest were a single Marbled
godwit and Black-bellied plover among dozens of juvie White ibis, Pectoral
sandpipers, and Lesser yellowlegs...all present on both days.
For those interested, here's a link to my favorite Black tern photo:

and in case you haven't seen enough Swallow-tailed kite pics...here's the
link to one I took 2 days ago after my first trip to Staunton View park:

Take care,
Ryan Kelley.
