Hello all
After an all day birding venture in Augusta & Rockingham Counties , I decided
to go back over to the field in Stuarts Draft which is now becoming more
flooded . All the shorebirds from this morning were still there except for two
Black - bellied Plovers have shown up . This morning were the following
shorebirds .
Killdeer -- 50+
Black - bellied Plover -- 2 -- I missed ID'ed these birds this evening because
I saw what looked like some golden plumage & I did not stick to my first
thoughts . Sorry to the two birders that I missed ID'ed them to . I keep
forgetting that Black - bellied has the silvery gray head & Golden has the
darker cap . ( DUH )
White - rumped --- 10+
Pectoral -- 20 +
Wilson's Snipe -- 1
Buff - breasted Sandpiper has gone .
In Rockingham at Oakwood Rd . 75 Canada's , 100+ Mallard , one Wood Duck & 5
No. Shoveler's
At the produce Auction at the end of the road where the E. Collared Dove's hang
out in a field across the road , there were Killdeer 29+ & two White - rumped
Sandpiper's .
