Dear va-birders,
Dave Larsen and I found two female surf scoters at the quarry pond at
silver lake park in Prince William county. They are sharing the pond with
much smaller bufflehead. The white spots on the head and large heavy bill
immediately stood out and we went back to the car for our scopes. They are
still present on the lake at this time.
