Darol Flahart and I spotted a SWALLOW TAILED KITE at 3:30 today (3-23). We were
at the north lake at the Sherwood Lake development on Princess Anne road
(where the Pacific loon has been seen). It was visible only a few minutes
before soaring beyond the tree line bordering Seaboard road. The deeply forked
dark tail and distinctive black and white underwing pattern made for a quick ID.
