A Swallow-tailed Kite made a brief appearance this morning around 9:30 am as it
soared near a Red-tailed Hawk above the Maintenance Compound just south of the
Great Dismal Swamp NWR headquarters off Desert Rd. in Suffolk. Don Schwab
spotted it and I got a good look at the bird before it dropped out of sight
behind the treeline; if anyone is down in that area the next couple of days
keep an eye out, this is a good time to be looking for Kites.
