Hello,
Happy New Year to everyone! I hope everyone has had a nice 2005.
I am planning an outing this coming spring/summer to survey for certain
birds for the BFL. This trip will take me back into parts of rural Pulaski and
Montgomery counties and will last two weeks or more. I am preparing now for
the survey and I have bought nearly all my needed camping supplies.
Since I am camping out for over 2 weeks, and surveying for birds at over 22
BFL sites, I will be spending a lot of time in the woods. I have never taken
good, and concise field notes, but would like to keep them, along with
something of a journal this year.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to lay out and take field notes. Any
websites, or photocopies of field notes would be appreiciated. Also, does
anyone have a journal that they take along and write in as they bird? Any
thoughts on how this could be layed out and used is also welcome.
I've only been able to find one good pdf doucument of taking notes, and it
was printed in 1977, so any updated materials, such as large pdf or copies can
be sent directly to me at one of the following emails.
Thanks for your help,
Anthony D. Phillips
