Hello Va-birds,
Ancarrow's Landing in Richmond provided a nice ball of activity today. This
is my second visit in the last week and both visit have been very productive
for warblers.
Today, a lone Hackberry near the beginning of the slave trail was full of
warblers. A constant and active flock of warblers continued in the tree the
entire visit. Maybe 20 birds at once from time to time. Mostly Blackpolls,
but several very active Cape Mays and a few Parulas as well. Too many birds
to look at sometimes, I felt like I kept missing some of them. The row of
trees along the river next to the boat ramp had those species plus Palm and
Yellow-rumps but in smaller numbers.
This little park has been a joy for me to visit. All these birds and right
in the heart of industrial Richmond!
