62 species were found at the Blue Ridge Center near Harper's Ferry this
morning on the monthly walk sponsored by the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy
and led by Mary Ann Good with Del Sargent and Donna Quinn. Highlights were
2 Great Egrets seen flying over by an early arrival, 8 warbler species
including Worm-eating and Kentucky (no Cerulean or Blue-winged today), and
both Acadian Flycatcher and Wood Thrush sitting on nests over the trail. We
also found a beautiful Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher nest on the ground while
searching for one we knew had been in the trees at the start of the Arnold
Trail.
