I spent an enjoyable morning with Bob Blakney at Thompson WMA mostly on the
central Trillium Trail. Lots of bird song including the usual breeders
(Cerulean, Kentucky W., Am. Redstart, Scarlet Tanager, RE Vireo, BH Vireo,
Wood Thrush, Indigo Bunting, Rose-breasted Grosbeak and Worm-eating
Warblers). There were undoubtedly more species calling that we missed! We
also heard Parulas, Black-throated Blues, Yellow W. and B&W Warbler. The
best bird though was a male Nashville Warbler which we got good views of
and which obliged us by also calling so we could confirm identification.
Altogether a good day.
