From Rich Merritt of Audubon NY RE: ABA vs. Audubon handling of donations:
I'm very pleased that both of our organizations are already preparing
resources and coordinating volunteers to fight this tragedy. I am also
assured that 100% of the donations being raised by Audubon are being put
into a restricted fund to be expended solely on the ground in coastal LA, MS
and Florida. Here at Audubon New York many of us are already requesting
vacation leave in order to do whatever we can.

I think National Audubon/IBAs are a good place to start. If you are on
Facebook there are LOTS of threads and links about this. Still evaluating
the topic myself WRT to where to get the most bang for the buck.

Does anyone know of where money can be donated to help in the saving of Gulf
Coast birds from the oil? Thanks in advance.
