Hello all
This morning Elaine Carwile & I went down to Campbell County to see the
Swallow Tailed Kite's . We arrived just a little after 10 am & with in 5
minutes one of the Kites appeared . Then a second bird appeared but it was
not the other Swallow Tailed . It turned out to be an Imm. Mississippi Kite
. What a blast to see two species of Kites in the same field glass . The
Miss. Kite interacted with the two ST kites for a short period before moving
on . While there we noted 14 Wild Turkey , Orchard Oriole , Savannah Sparrow
, Bluebird , Eastern Kingbird , Am. Crow , Red tailed Hawk , Red shouldered
Hawk , both Vultures . As in the post from Mark Johnson & Sandy W. , they
arrived shortly after the Miss. Kite had gone . Over the Staunton River we
saw an Osprey . Not a bad day of birding in Campbell County .
