You are correct, everything has a cost. There are always trade offs. Wind
farms kill birds, but provide "clean" electricity. Nuclear power plants kills
fish larvae, but heat the water providing waterfowl a place to swim in the
winter. Solar farms fry birds, but also provide "clean" energy. Then, as you
mention, there is fracking. A process that has existed since the 1940s,
allowing generations of birding enthusiasts to travel the globe in search of
the next "life" bird on their list. Everything has a cost.
