I have heard Woodcock at my house at 6:00 am this morning and on Monday
morning. There is a big field near the house but otherwise this is a very
suburban neighborhood.

American Woodcock have been seen and heard at sunrise and sunset here in the
suburbs of greater, downtown, Limeton, Virginia, about six miles south of
Front Royal on US Route 340 since February 26. This is a new date for
the first sighting of the year for these birds. Last evening just after
sunset, a flock of 52 Canada Geese were seen heading north. A Barred Owl
was also heard shortly after sunset.
