Completely true - although the WBS Guide from Japan is currently out of
print and difficult to obtain save thru Ebay for a goodly sum. An
alternative is the "Birds of Korea", translated by D. Allen and
illustrations by T. Taniguchi, LG Evergreen Foundation, Seoul (2000, 2005).
It's very similar to the original WBS Guide. The folks in Japan were very
curious about this guide..

Kurt's mention of his sighting in Japan also reminded me of another
reference - Wild Bird Society of Japan's Field Guide to the Birds of Japan.
