Just want to add to Don's excellent report on our Broad-wing experience at
the Riverbend Park meadow this morning, that we also saw other raptor
species, albeit in much smaller numbers--2 Ospreys, an immature Bald Eagle,
Red-tailed Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk, a Cooper's and a Sharpie. As to the
number of Broad-wings, by the time we left the meadow, my rough count was at
2,200. I have seen small numbers of Broadwings there in the past, but today
migration was beyond any I could have imagined over the meadow.
