I don't think that message was sent to the listserve until Mr. Goddard made
the choice to publicize it.  For future reference, the moderator works hard
for a living and sees posts after the fact, Bret.  My own private reply was
polite and delved into my personal observations of the amazing people
involved in banding and citizen science projects, plus some brief examples
of how the data gathered can be used in a positive way and why it is needed.
Also, I made suggestions about how to make nice and attempt to repair
relationships damaged before they were even born.  If education and
understanding are sought and an apology is offered, perhaps everyone can
consider forgiveness and tolerance?  We all have a bad day or a mis-step
here and there...

While I may not agree with this person's post, he is entitled to an opinion
and was quite decent in his wording. He basically said I had my say. I
assumed he was done but he came back to show us how bad at least one of us
here could be. 

This response to him in my opinion is a personal attack which all
list.serves I am aware of do not allow. 

If I was the owner he would be gone. At the least he should be answered.
