Addendum to Lynda's post.

Osprey were active, I counted at least 8 different birds.
We heard a couple rails, but did not see any. We only saw one egret all morning.

Great Blue Heron - 2
Great Egret - 1
Bald eagle  - 2 adult
Osprey - 8
Least Terns
Royal Terns
Common Terns
Sandpipers

My pics are at: http://public.fotki.com/bhouston/miscellaneous/nature_pics/20110813-bethel-bea/?view=roll
(Lots of flight shots...they were active and let me practice)

Barbara Houston and I decided to ride down to Bethel Beach early this morning. The smoke coming up from the fires at the Great Dismal Swamp made for a really pretty sunrise, but it was thick and stinky until we got to the beach.. then it cleared out.
Lots of Least Terns there with half grown chicks. The parents were catching the fish for them. Lots of fun to watch..
Pics are here if you are interested..
