It's all a personal preference I suppose. As someone who doesn't live in
Virginia any more but continues to follow the listserv just to keep up with
how the birding is going around the state, I enjoy the travelogues. I guess
it lets me live vicariously through others' birding days, and it's more
interesting to read. I'm really only going to "chase" any Virginia
sightings if they're mega-rarities anyway, so for me, a brief "FOY YEWA @
ESVNWR!" post isn't all that helpful, but that's just my preference. To
each their own. I felt the need to post this just so anyone posting more
detailed descriptions of their birding days doesn't feel like no one out
there appreciates their posts.
