Forgot to mention that budgies, in addition to seed, also enjoy apple slices,
pieces of cauliflower, a leaf of lettuce, and millet (especially the millet
sprays sold in pet shops). Unless you're in one of the areas fortunate enough
to have received recent thunderstorms, a shallow container of water will be
attractive to the parakeet, as well as the wild birds.
