I'm relieved that there have been no posts reporting unusual numbers of
Catbirds dying in backyards. There are many causes of bird deaths, pesticides
among them. It doesn't look like there is an epidemic of anything going on. No
one but Donald Sweig and I reported Catbird deaths and today I saw a healthy
(living, at least) Catbird in my yard. Both he and I disposed of the dead birds
and so it will never be known how they died. I'm glad that this thread allowed
a few to speak on the dangers of pesticides to birds and the benefits of
natural gardening.
