At our cabin (with a pond) in the Franklin County area near Callaway, we
have Phoebes year round. I expect they will soon be building nests above
the front light and the back wall as usual.

A phoebe singing, or calling, is a sign of the changing season, though even
here in the mountains of Virginia, I have seen a few every winter.
However, in Spring Valley (Grayson County), I heard a phoebe for the first
time on Sunday morning.
Also, the song sparrows and red-winged blackbirds are filling the airwaves
with great promise of things to come.
