The Fork-tailed Flycatcher is actively feeding (sallys upward mainly) on
dragonflies on the powerlines immediately adjacent to the intersection that
Arun posted. This area has a field (fallow rye?) immediately to the south and
fields of soybean, I believe to the north. There is one fairly large Loblolly
Pine at the intersection (northeast corner). However, there are no road signs
at this intersection.
From Frank's Truck Stop on South Military Highway (Route 13) at Bower's Hill,
go east on S. Military Hwy. Turn right after about 0.2 miles (before the
interstate overpass) and continue to follow S. Military Hwy. Take the next
right onto Homestead Road. Travel about 1 mile to the T-intersection with
Peach Road. Turn left and travel about 0.3 miles to the next intersection.
This is Hertz and Peach. A pair of Dickcissel is here too.
