Hi Phil,
I also found singing young male Orchard Orioles today, in two different
locations (one Virginia, one Maryland). I ID-ed both yellowish birds as to
species and gender, based on the black throat "goatee". Maybe this is common
behavior for the young OROR males? I don't know.

The regular 8AM Sunday walk open to all from the South end of the Belle Haven
Picnic Area had 9 birders enjoying a few, mostly heard, warblers and a total
of 44 species.
The highlight for many was the Orchard Oriole where we saw a young male

We also saw adult male Baltimore and Orchard Orioles. We also got to watch a
singing Warbling Vireo. The sight the few of us got to behold and won't soon
forget was an adult Bald Eagle that swooped down from a high perch toward a
flying Osprey with a fish. The Osprey let go when the Bald Eagle was within
15 feet and the Bald Eagle caught it mid-air before it could fall into the
