Hey, Rich. I left my green "Alaska" hat in your car. Just leave it there and
I'll get it on the next trip. I ordered the I main go 2 tonight. I found an
Amazon gift card I had forgotten about, so I got it free!

Kites
Dave Boltz, Phil Silas, Sherman Suter and I went looking for the Yellow
Crowned Night-Heron at Lake Accotink this morning. We were not successful in
that respect, but we did manage to find 70 species and our list (see below)
included 13 species of warbler. The small pond area where the YCNH has been
seen contained a total of 17 WOOD DUCK (9 M, 4F and 4 young 'uns), which I
think is the most I've ever seen in one place. The north end of the lake had
some exposed mudflats where we found all the shorebirds. The BARRED OWLS
started hooting around 10a and then again around 11a as we were leaving.
There was a nice breeze blowing around 11a as we were heading out, so we
trucked on over to the MISSISSIPPI KITE location off Burke Lake Road
(Intersection of Old Burke Lake Road and Jackson St.) Two Kites obliged us
by soaring in as soon as we arrived and one posted up allowing extended
scope views. Very nice.
