Hello everyone!
I visited the marsh along the entrance road to James River National Wildlife
Refuge off Route 10, east of the city of Hopewell. My visit was from 8:15 A.M.
until 1:30 P.M.
With the wind blowing a bit from the Northeast I didn't expect to see much but
at least a few birds raised their heads. The most persistent bird of the day
had to be a 1st summer male Orchard Oriole. Several times, during the morning,
it would pop up in a different location and sing it's heart out. Hopefully, I
have a few photos of it an a few other birds. If they survive editing, I will
post another email when they are completed.
I saw the following:
Bald Eagle (over flight)Red-Tailed Hawk (in flight)
Turkey Vulture1st Summer Male Orchard OrioleIndigo BuntingGreat Crested
