For an even more specific treatise of T's opinion on this part of nature
that we all love, see the book "Thoreau on Birds," in which he declares the
wood thrush as his favorite bird, delighting in its flutelike song.

philosophers of the American experience, Thoreau was a primary influence

leaders. Peopke like Ghandi, Martin luther King, who adopted Thoreau's
prescriptions for non-violent activism from thoreau's 'Civil

Disobediance';

scientists and naturalists such as E.O. Wilson, John Muir, John

Burroughs, and

B.F. Skinner were guided in much of  their work by Thoreau's writings;
