I have been seeing the Iceland Gull reported last week and today by Clive
Harris. Bird has very worn plumage with lots of bare shafts showing towards
back of folded wing (scapulars) . Neck is so bare in one spot pink flesh is
showing. The bird was seen near the traffic circle along the beach in the early
morn... 8:00 am yesterday and 7:00 am today. Tons of photos but unable to
download any right now. Bird was definitely smaller then Herring Gulls with
which it was photographed. Primaries white, iris brown pupil dark, orbital ring
not real apparent but some greenish yellow color may have been present. wing
tips reached past tail. Bill -tip dark upper 2/rds mandilble pinkish yellow,
lower 2rds smudgey dark with some pink yellow. Legs pink flesh colored.
