All,

I have had several inquiries about the pipeline and where it is, how to get to it, etc. If you are interested, shoot me an email offline and i will take a group on Saturday, march 9th. I will set up meeing place(s) after I see how many people we have signed up. If the interest is there, I will show you the southside floodwall as well.

We did our first visit of 2013 up to the pipeline this morning. It was a cold, windy morning and clear when we arrived turning to cloudy as the morning wore on. The great blue herons were plentiful in the rookery, I would guess between 40 and 50 of them, but they were not very active this morning. The water level is still quite high and the water moving very fast. We walked down as far as we could and found a pair of ospreys on one of the old brick trestles. Other birds included a large number of gulls and cormorants, several mallards, Canadas, a lone black duck, and a kingfisher.

I tried to get some pictures of the rookery area from a few different angles.
