I have friends planning a drive down today. If someone does see the Lapwing
this morning I would appreciate a heads up.
And... did anyone actually see this photographer(s) who reportedly flushed the
bird? I have only heard second-hand reports and they are, well, second hand. I
would like to know from someone who saw it happen if there is anyone. I think
Paul initially heard it from the golf cart guy who lives up there (and speaking
of flushing things, his dog runs "free" by the way).

I was not there to witness the photographers chasing the bird off; that is
truly shameful and whoever did that should know better. But the bird has been

I was there from 1:15 to 3:45 and the bird was not seen. There were a
couple reports of the bird being seen in the morning, but apparently an
overzealous photographer walked into the field and flushed it. There were
no positive reports after that.
