I was there from about 10:30 'til 11:30, and the bird was there and seen by
many. It remained very far from the road but even with wind and ground heat
distortion we all saw it clearly in our scopes. I took some ridiculous photos
from a few hundred yards away with only 400mm of lens, just in hopes of a
record shot for myself -- I'll post one tonight on my Flickr site at
www.flickr.com/birdingva. They are a joke and truly terrible -- but barely
recognizeable!
I was not there to witness the photographers chasing the bird off; that is
truly shameful and whoever did that should know better. But the bird has been
loyal to this small patch of earth for a week now, and hopefully will return.

I was there from 1:15 to 3:45 and the bird was not seen. There were a
couple reports of the bird being seen in the morning, but apparently an
overzealous photographer walked into the field and flushed it. There were
no positive reports after that.
