Paul, I couldn't agree more. I'm actually kind of dumbfounded when birders--especially experienced ones--tell me they don't use ebird. I posted earlier that it's important for birders to contribute valuable field based data (the kind of data that only they can provide). But I also find ebird to be an invaluable resource. I've learned so much more about birds, migratory patterns, birds' preferred habitats, birding locations, other birders for that matter, and on and on using ebird. Dave

Almost everyone who has replied to this thread has missed the fact that the
original poster specifically stated that he receives va-bird in DIGEST mode
and has trouble scrolling through all the execess lines on his tablet. None
of the suggestions for deleting or filtering are relevant to his situation.

Personally, I think that anyone who wants to see the Ebird reports should
join Ebird. In fact, anyone who cares enough about birds and birding to be
on this listserve should join Ebird.

You can block emails (or rather automatically delete them or move them to
any folder) with specific subject lines. Every email provider/client I've
used has this option, usually called a "filter" or a "rule".

Sorry to make you delete another email, Scott, :D but your solution also

myself, nor do I use eBird, so I like getting them, and his other posts,
too.

I've been a member of one birding email list that blew up and was shut
down. Hopefully, a discussion that lasts a few days on the nature of posts
here won't cause that kind of animosity.
