There were lots of birds in the upper meadow at Riverbend Park this morning.
Ralph Wall, Marshall Rawson, our friend Heather, and myself birded the meadow
from about 7:30 to 9:30.
There were surely more migrants then we could see clearly, or identify. The
warblers included multiple Tennessee's, Magnolias, Chestnut-sided,
Yellowthroat, Palm, Canada, Black- throated green.
We saw four Scarlet tanagers and a Rose -breasted Grosbeak; Red-eyed and
Yellow-throated vireos; Blue-grey Gnatcatchers, Peewees and Empidonax
flycatchers; a Catbird, a House Wren, and a couple of hummingbirds. And, of
course, as usual, lots of the usual domestic suspects.
If the winds continue as predicted, there could well be lots of birds
tomorrow as well.
