Started just before sunrise at the fishing pier and birded the ruins meadow and
picnic area till ~10, and spent the rest of the day (till ~2:00 PM) at Bushey
Pt. Highlights for me were 19 warbler species with two GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER
(lifer) and Yellow-rumped W. (due to date) being the standouts; along with
Peregrine Falcon and 6 woodpecker species. My complete sightings list is below.
Other warbler reports for Leesylvania this morning list 3 species I missed
(Palm, Nashville and Tennessee); bringing the warbler species count to at least
22 in the park today. The Golden-winged Warblers were seen on several separate
occasions traveling in a mixed flock around the middle board walk (both sides)
and the picnic area beside the boat house.
