Hi,
 
The Common Branded Skipper (Hesperia comma) is not a butterfly  likely to 
be seen in Virginia--its range is across Canada into Mexico and it's  in the 
western U.S.

Weather:
Lovely day!  Light SE wind increasing late  afternoon.  Temp 22.6C
increasing to 28.2C. Just the right amount of  cloud cover to spot birds in
the bright blue sky.

Raptor  Observations:
A slow day with some of the Broad-wing just milling   around without
crossing the gap including a group of four seen several  times today.  An
adult BAEA at 1:11 PM EDST.  

Non-raptor  Observations:
Cedar Waxwing-10; Ruby-throated Humingbird-2; Butterflies  galore amongst
the hillside of thistle that included Monarch Butterfly-7,  Great Spangled
Fritillary, Common Branded Skipper, Painted Lady, Black  Swallowtail,
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.

Visitors Ernie Miller and  Jessica Ausura reported  a group of 13 Common
Nighhawk and an adult  Bald Eagle flew over the previous evening (Saturday,
Aug.  22).
