Subject: [Va-bird] Ross's Goose during Rusty Blackbird Blitz, Louisa County
Hey everyone,
Today I led a trip for the BRYBC (Blue Ridge Young Birders Club) around Green
Springs Historical District for the Piedmont Rusty Blackbird Blitz Trip. We
had a great day birding around my favorite birding place.
We started the day at the Lakes behind McDonalds. There we saw

Next we drove up to Green Springs where we would search for Rusty Blackbirds.
There we saw the Ross's Goose, Wilson's Snipes, Male Lesser Scaup, and a
single Rusty Blackbird. Here is the checklist:

We checked a Private property barn that I have access to but didn't find the
Barn Owl.
Finally we went to Hawkwood Lake on West Jack Jouett Road. There we had great
looks at another lone Rusty, 3 Snipes, and 2 female Lesser Scaups.
