I too had a Scarlet Tanager today with a large mixed flock including Robins,
Grackles, and Flickers.
I also still have a Ruby-throated Hummingbird coming to the feeder
regularly, and 4 Chimney Swifts flew over this afternoon.

Subject: [Va-bird] SCARLET TANAGER Powhatan County 10/10/09
After the cold front went through this afternoon, there was a lot of bird
activity in the fruiting dogwoods at the edge of our lawn. Mostly bluebirds
and flickers, and I was surprised to also see a SCARLET TANAGER. October 10
is the typical last date for the Piedmont.
