I went to Harpers Ferry, WV this weekend. Excellent birding area! Anyway,
I have a question about Vultures (Turkey and Black). Is it normal for them
to soar with their feet hanging down? I have a picture of it here,
http://www.gregoryhodges.com/birds.htm. I was at the Hilltop Inn and
noticed that the birds were picking up the wind coming up the face of the
hill and soaring with their feet hanging down. It appeared as if they were
using it to produce drag to slow themselves while soaring.
