During a kayak paddle on Sat 6/28, we were surprised to see a group of 9
scoters in Gargathy Bay near Metompkin Island. There was 1 male White-Winged
(prominent white comma at eye), 2 Black and (best I could ID) 6 female or 1st
Spring Black.
Other interesting birds on the paddle included a family of Piping Plovers on
Metompkin Island (2 adults and 2 chicks), American Oystercatchers, Least Terns,
Black Skimmers, Willets, Snowy Egrets, Clapper Rails and Purple Martins.
In addition, Gargathy Bay is just beautiful.
